Dallas Shelter Dog to Appear in Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl

A puppy from the City of Dallas Animal Services will make her national debut during this year's Puppy Bowl XIV on Sunday, Feb. 4.

The Puppy Bowl is the Animal Planet's alternative programming to the Super Bowl.

This year Lucy will be part of the second string of Team Fluff in the cutest competition on TV. The terrier mix will mix it up with other canines for the CHEWY.com "Lombarky" Trophy.

That's right it's cuteness overload as #TeamFluff and #TeamRuff compete for the 13th year.

Lucy arrived at Dallas Animal Services as a stray, too young to be away from her mom and siblings and not quite ready for adoption. She spent some time in a foster home where she grew up and learned to socialize, then a friend of the foster family adopted her.

Puppies from 48 shelters and rescues across the country will go paw to paw and nose to nose for two hours. This year pups from areas devastated by natural disasters will take part -- including Houston, Puerto Rico and Florida.

This year Puppy Bowl XIV will be played in an all-new bone-shaped GEICO stadium, with more than a dozen cameras capturing the cuteness.
