Cowboys Work Out UCLA QB Brett Hundley

Hundley is the No. 3 ranked quarterback in the 2015 draft class

With Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones acknowledging earlier this offseason that it’s probably time for the team to start looking for a quarterback to groom as Tony Romo’s successor, the team has worked out several signal callers in preparation for the upcoming draft.

The latest is UCLA’s Brett Hundley.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys held a private workout for Hundley at UCLA on Thursday. They’ve previously shown some pre-draft interest in Baylor’s Bryce Petty and Colorado State’s Garrett Grayson, who’s set to visit Valley Ranch at some point.

Hundley, who threw for 2,348 yards and 20 touchdowns last year for the Bruins, is ranked as the No. 3 quarterback in the Class of 2015 behind Florida State’s Jameis Winston and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota and projected to come off the board in the second round.

The Cowboys haven’t drafted a quarterback since 2009, when they took Stephen McGee out of Texas A&M in the fourth round, and they haven’t drafted a quarterback in the second round since 2001, when they took Quincy Carter out of Georgia.
