Cowboys Work Out Memphis QB Paxton Lynch

Lynch worked out for the team on Wednesday in Orlando, FL

Whether the Dallas Cowboys are actually going to take a young franchise quarterback type in the first round of the NFL Draft next month, or just want everyone else to think they’re going to take a quarterback is still anyone’s guess at this point in the year, but the team has begun the work of working out signal callers.

The first up, Memphis’ Paxton Lynch.

Cowboys’ head coach Jason Garrett flew to Orlando, FL after the annual NFL owners’ meetings in Boca Raton this week to work out Lynch, the first private workout he’s been a part of this offseason.

“… If you can get a chance to go be closer to them and get your hands on them and ask them to do specific things you would ask a player to do, I think that gives you a better chance to evaluate the guy," Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. "You also want to find out who the guy is as a person. That's a really, really important thing to us."

Apparently, the workout went well enough. Afterward, NFL Media’s Rand Getlin reported that Dallas and Lynch are planning to meet again before the Draft.
