Cowboys Trying Yet Another Ex-Seahawk at Running Back

Why don’t the Cowboys end this merry-go-nowhere and trade for Marshawn Lynch?

They seem, after all, determined to make an ex-Seahawks’ runner work in their backfield.

Earlier this season the Cowboys claimed Rod Smith off waivers from Seattle. Then came the signing of former Lynch backup Christine Michael. And now – a day after cutting Michael – the Cowboys have signed another former Lynch reserve in Robert Turbin.

Remember Dallas’ initial plan to replace NFL leading rusher DeMarco Murray with a committee led by Joseph Randle (cut), Darren McFadden (starter) and Lance Dunbar (injured)? That strategy, like their season, has spiraled down the toilet.

As Tony Romo returns Sunday to attempt to salvage a 2-7 season, Turbin will be the latest former Seahawk to get a chance to help.

A 4th-round pick in 2012, he’s a bowling ball of a back with giant legs, freakishly huge biceps and a low center of gravity. He rushed for 354 yards as a rookie and during his three years in Seattle caught two touchdown passes.

He played in three games with the Browns this season, rushing for only 60 yards

His hands, his short-yardage bulldozing and his willingness – and ability – in blitz protection are all factors in bringing him to coincide with Romo’s return.

Turbin, who could see action Sunday in Miami, will wear No. 23. Not gonna lie, it’d be better at this point if Dallas just acquired Seattle’s No. 24.
