Cowboys Schedule Pre-Draft Workouts with Pair of DBs

Florida's Vernon Hargreaves and Boston College's Justin Simmons are both scheduled to work out for the Cowboys in the coming weeks

The Dallas Cowboys continue to line up pre-draft workouts, with the 2016 NFL Draft set for next month, and according to NFL Media's Rand Getlin, the latest pair to get a date with “America’s Team” are defensive backs Justin Simmons and Vernon Hargreaves, of Boston College and Florida, respectively.

Florida just had their Pro Day on Tuesday, and the cornerback Hargreaves impressed just about everyone—all 32 NFL teams were represented—with longtime Cowboys executive and NFL Media analyst Gil Brandt saying he cemented his status as a top-10 prospect in this year’s class.

Simmons recorded five interceptions over his senior season with the Golden Eagles, while playing safety, but he can also play corner—and at 6-foot-3, 201 pounds, he brings good size to the position, while maintaining good speed. He posted a 4.61 40-yard dash and a 40-inch vertical at the Combine.
