Cowboys Rooting Guide: Lions Over Packers

So, we know this: Barring a Seattle loss at home to the Rams and an Arizona loss to San Francisco, the latter of which is pretty likely but the former of which isn't, the Dallas Cowboys will be playing a game on Wild Card weekend in two weeks.

The opponent? Well, that'd almost certainly be the loser of Sunday's NFC North title game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, which is at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday at Lambeau Field. The Packers are a 7.5-point favorite because, well, the Packers haven't lost a home game this year.

But, the Cowboys should be rooting for a first-round matchup against the Packers, not the seemingly inferior Lions.

Here's why. It's simple, you'd much rather play the Packers at home than at Lambeau, even if you are undefeated on the road like the Cowboys this season, and it all goes back to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers' performance.

Rodgers is a perfect beast at home this year, throwing 23 touchdowns and ZERO interceptions in seven home games thus far with a quarterback rating of 132.6. On the road, Rodgers is much more mortal with a rating of 94.2 and just 13 touchdowns with five picks in eight road games.

The Packers are a good team, but they're not playing real well right now, so the sooner the better. Bring 'em on.
