Cowboys Part Ways With LB Kyle Knox

Knox was released just three days after he was signed to the team

The Dallas Cowboys made the decision to part ways with linebacker Kyle Knox on Friday, just three days after he was signed by the team to provide some roster depth at the linebacker position.

The depth was needed as Rolando McClain is going through rehab after arthroscopic knee surgery, Sean Lee is limited as he works back from the torn ACL that he suffered a year ago and, until last week, Anthony Hitchens was being held out with a hamstring issue.

The journeyman Knox went undrafted out of Fresno State in 2012, but signed with the Seahawks as a free agent. In 2013, he appeared in four games with the Jaguars but didn’t record a tackle, and last year, he appeared in 12 games and recorded three tackles as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

With his release, we’d expect the Cowboys to be on the lookout for a new linebacker in the coming days.
