Cowboys Hiring Greg Jackson as Safeties Coach

Jackson spent last season coaching the Michigan Wolverines' defensive backs

The Dallas Cowboys’ search for a defensive backs coach appears to be over.

According to the Cowboys’ website, the team will hire Greg Jackson, formerly defensive backs coach at the University of Michigan, to round out their coaching staff. But where Atlanta-bound former secondary coach Jerome Henderson was responsible for the entire secondary, Jackson is being brought in to coach the safeties.

Under this new arrangement, the secondary will be run by Jackson and fifth-year assistant secondary coach Joe Baker.

Jackson coached the Michigan Wolverines’ defensive backs under Jim Harbaugh last year after spending four seasons as an assistant DBs coach under Harbaugh with the San Francisco 49ers. He spent 12 years as a safety in the NFL.
