The Cowboys needed some help in the secondary going into this draft, so they used a sixth round pick to address it by taking cornerback Anthony Brown from Purdue with the 189th overall pick.
Upside: Brown had four interceptions last season. He has the hands to finish with the interception when given the opportunity. One of his strengths is his tackling ability. Brown is willing to throw his body into a play.
Downside: Doesn’t seem to trust his technique at times and can be too willing to grab and pull rather than work the feet. Reads passes quickly but the burst to the ball is limited. Pass tackler with inconsistent effort against the run.

Bottom line: To earn playing time, Brown will need to play to his size (5’11, 192 lbs) and improve his aggressiveness on the next level. He has the combination of good athleticism mixed in with physicality to not only be a corner but also a potential special teams contributor right away.
