Cowboys Get Competition To Host NFL Draft

The good people of Minnesota want to host the NFL Draft.

The club announced it applied to host the NFL Draft in 2022 or 2023 at U.S. Bank Stadium and a the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center which is the Vikings practice facility set to open next March.

Vikings VP Lester Bagley told the St. Paul Pioneer Press, “We think, obviously, we have a great community, great hospitality, great hotels, restaurants,” Bagley said. “We think it would be an ideal spot to host an NFL draft.”

The Dallas Cowboys have expressed interested in hosting the NFL draft. Jerry Jones said he hopes to bring the even to AT&T Stadium and the Ford Center. He's been on the record numerous times saying he wants the NFL Draft in the Metroplex. 

I asked the Cowboys organization for comment and they said they are not confirming if they put in an application to host the NFL Draft put reaffirmed the club would like to host the event.

Philadelphia hosted the NFL Draft this year and it may return to the city of Brotherly Love in 2018. The league has not named a host city for next year but former Eagles quarteback Ron Jaworski told Sirius/XM NFL Radio the NFL planned to exercise the 2018 option with the city of Philadelphia.
