Cowboys Get CBs Scandrick, Carr Back

On Thursday, for the first time in two weeks, the Dallas Cowboys had both Orlando Scandrick and Brandon Carr on the field for practice. Carr underwent hand surgery on August 10 similar to what DeMarco Murray underwent down the stretch last season, and Scandrick had been dealing with a sore knee.

“Yeah, I’m 100 percent,” Scandrick said Thursday, per the Dallas Morning News. “I wouldn’t be out here if I wasn’t. I feel good. I feel like I’m ready to play football.”

On the other hand, Carr isn’t really 100 percent of course, but as Murray did last year, he’ll wrap the hand up with some extra padding and play through it.

“I didn’t really feel it today,” Carr said. “It felt pretty good. I’m going to keep doing more and more with it each day and get it back stronger and get ready for game time.”

It was a long couple weeks for Carr.

“It’s tough sometimes sitting back, watching practice,” Carr said. “The guys are having fun out there competing, making plays, and we’re all trying to get ourselves back on the field. Got an opportunity to be out there today and it felt good running around, both of us, just to get back in the mix of things.”
