If you’re a fan of Tim Tebow and you plan on watching the preseason opener tonight between the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos, well, boy are you in for a treat.
Confirming what Tebow suggested to the press this week, Broncos’ head coach John Fox has said that the former University of Florida star will be the team’s second quarterback Thursday night after Kyle Orton. Orton and the rest of the starters will play between 12 and 15 plays, according to Fox. Then, it’ll be Tebow time for awhile, before Tebow gives way to another former NCAA star, Brady Quinn.
Of course, not everything has been peachy for Tebow this offseason. He reportedly told Woody Paige of the Denver Post, and we’re paraphrasing here, that he felt his dream of being a starting quarterback in the NFL had been snatched away from him--and just when it seemed so close. He’s since backed off those remarks and grown a beard. Now, he’s just excited to play football again.
"I just have fun, you know, playing football," Tebow said recently, per the Dallas Morning News. "I love doing that, and so when I get an opportunity, just play. It feels good. And I love doing it, so you know I'm not really down, no."
