Cowboys’ Bro Club Attends Game with Colt

Depending on who you listen to in the Cowboys' front office, they're either willing to draft a quarterback with the fourth overall pick in April's draft, or they're not.

If you listen to the person who matters most (Jerrah), then you have to believe the latter after Jones said he expects Tony Romo to be his quarterback for the next four or five years until he's age 40. Umm...

All that speculation aside, the Cowboys do need to address the backup quarterback role and not stick with Kellen Moore, who's probably more of a No. 3 emergency guy, and it's more likely they'll sign a veteran to come in and back up Romo. That's where Monday night comes into play.

Romo and his Cowboy bro Jason Witten went on one of their college basketball excursions down I-35 to Austin to watch No. 1 Kansas handle Texas in blowout fashion. But they weren't alone. In fact, they were sitting with unrestricted free agent Colt McCoy, a veteran backup who's won games in the NFL, including a big win over the Cowboys two years ago when he was in Washington.

McCoy seems to fit perfectly what the Cowboys want in a veteran backup, so were Witten and Romo courting him? He's not a guy that could go be a starter anywhere, like RG3 or Johnny Football (before all of his issues). Could McCoy look at this as a place to go with a pretty real opportunity to start some games given Romo's fragility?

No one knows for sure what the Cowboys are planning for Draft Day, but Monday night at least gives us a suggestion.
