Cowboys Add Tight End Dallas Walker

Walker will fill the roster spot left vacant by Kyle Orton

With a roster spot left vacant by Kyle Orton, who was released after holding out all offseason this week, the Dallas Cowboys added tight end Dallas Walker on Thursday, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.

A Western Michigan product who went undrafted in 2012, Walker spent training camp last year with the San Diego Chargers but was cut before the season. He worked out for the Cowboys at Valley Ranch in June, but wasn’t offered a deal at the time.

With Walker in the fold, Dallas will have five tight ends to work with when training camp opens next week: Jason Witten, James Hanna, Gavin Escobar, Jordan Najvar and, of course, the newcomer Walker.
