Cowboys Add Former Baylor RB Lache Seastrunk

Seastrunk was drafted in the sixth round by the Redskins last year

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones has insisted all offseason that the team will continue to look for running back help, and on Monday, they potentially got some in the form of former Baylor standout Lache Seastrunk. To make room for the second-year back, the team released undrafted rookie Synjyn Days.

Seastrunk was drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Redskins. He was cut at the end of camp and spent time on the practice squads of the Carolina Panthers and the Tennessee Titans. He was waived by the Titans last month.

A Temple, TX native, Seastrunk spent his freshman year at Oregon before coming back to Texas and joining the Bears in Waco. He spent only two seasons with the team, but posted 2,189 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in that time and was named First Team All-Big 12 in his final college season.

With the pair of moves, Seastrunk replaces Days as the fifth running back on the Cowboys’ roster, joining Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden, Lance Dunbar and Ryan Williams.
