Cowboys Add CB Tyler Patmon

Patmon spent last season with the Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys signed cornerback Tyler Patmon on Wednesday, and released injured safety Marvin Robinson.

Robinson, who joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Ferris State, suffered a torn meniscus during a workout at the rookie mini-camp last week. He underwent surgery on Tuesday.

Patmon, who spent last season with Oklahoma State after three years at Kansas, was originally invited to Valley Ranch on a workout basis over the weekend, but impressed the staff highly. Monte Kiffin even went so far as to compare Patmon to one of the best corners in recent history.

I see this guy No. 20, this defensive back, I don’t even know the guy,” Kiffin said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I want to see him out there. He reminds me of Ronde Barber. I don’t know that he’s Ronde Barber now. It’s exciting.”
