Christine Michael Doesn't Know What Led to Expanded Role

Michael is expected to have a greater role in the ground game when the team returns from the bye

Dallas Cowboys running back Christine Michael is glad it happened, but he has no idea what specifically led to the coaching staff deciding to expand his role in the ground game moving forward.

I’m just as clueless as you are,” Michael told the team’s official website. “Those guys did say I’m going to get a little bit more carries, but we’ll see on Sunday.”

The Cowboys acquired Michael a week before the regular season began, but have only called his number twice since then. The first of those runs went backwards for a yard against the Saints; on the second, he gained six on his only carry in the 30-6 loss to the Patriots.

“Yeah, I mean it’s tough,” Michael said. “But like I said, I’m happy with anything to contribute to this team. It’s a good team, it’s a great offense and I’m just happy to be a part of it. If one carry is all I get, I’m blessed to get that.”
