Chloe Kim's Victory Lap: SI Cover, Kellogg's Box and Fallon Selfies

“The country is so proud of you,” Jimmy Fallon told the gold medalist and breakout star of the Pyeongchang Olympics

Snowboarder Chloe Kim put on quite a show at the Olympics on behalf of Team USA and now she’s back in the States, taking a well-deserved victory lap.

The gold medalist and breakout star of the Pyeongchang Olympics is on the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated, appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday and is being featured on a limited edition Gold Medal Kellogg's Corn Flakes box.

The 17-year-old from Torrance, California, was photographed for the magazine, sporting her gold medal and hugging her dog, a mini Australian Shepherd named Reese. In one shot she’s dancing with her dog, who seems to be taking the attention and the photoshoot in stride.

On Twitter, Kim’s fans loved seeing her with her adorable pup.

Kim took selfies with Fallon and also teamed up with the comedian to photobomb fans for Wednesday’s show. They snuck behind people posing for photos against an Olympic-themed background at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Fallon wore a blond wing and hat to resemble Kim. Of course, the fans were surprised and thrilled to meet the gold medalist.

“You are amazing,” one fan told Kim.

Fallon had a surprise of his own for Kim. He announced that the Olympian will now appear on the front of Kellogg's Corn Flakes boxes. He unveiled a giant version of the box, with her smiling from ear to ear and holding her gold medal.

“The country is so proud of you,” Fallon said.

Kim gained attention in Pyeongchang as much for her aerial wizardry as for her tweets about eating ice cream and churros and being "hangry" because she didn't finish breakfast before her race.

Kellogg’s tweeted on Thursday: "No more #hangry tweets from @chloekimsnow . She is now on her very own limited edition Gold Medal Kellogg's Corn Flakes box!"

Kim admitted to Fallon that immediately after her win, she felt "empty.”

"Well, I felt really empty at first. Does that make sense?" she said. "Just emotionless. I was just, like, there."

"I don't know if I'd feel that feeling," Fallon joked back.

But she seems to be enjoying the post-Olympic ride, even joking about the attention she’s received, tweeting: “People acting like my bestie after the Olympics. Like remember when you took a sip of my apple juice in kindergarten, still salty bout that.”

When Kim started the Olympics, she had 15,000 Twitter followers. She now has more than 330,000 as of Thursday afternoon. Her Instagram following nearly tripled, to 721,000.
