Carr Secures First Interception Since 2013 in Cowboys Loss

Brandon Carr picked off Eli Manning during the season opener.

The last three years have gone by way too slowly for Brandon Carr. The defensive back, who prides himself on play-making, had not made an interception since 2013.

That finally changed during the season opener. Carr picked off Eli Manning to start the third quarter, which led to a touchdown by Ezekiel Elliott.

Carr wears a rubber band around his wrist, and he pops it against his skin when he makes a good play.

It wasn't the most spectacular play. In fact, the interception could be described as a "gift pick." Giants rookie wide receiver Sterling Shepard ran an incorrect route and Carr was there with an easy catch that was thrown right to him.

Carr's fellow defensive backs are still waiting to end their interception droughts. Morris Claiborne is nearing the 2-year anniversary of his last turnover, while Orlando Scandrick's most recent interception came in December of 2014.

The Cowboys forced a season low 11 turnovers in 2015, and this secondary unit is the strength of the defense. The interceptions must come from there, and Carr's pick sets a nice tympo for the season. His interception was the team's only turnover of the game.
