AP Camp Tidbits – Day Zero

The players take the field at the Alamodome Wednesday afternoon for the first practice session of Cowboys Camp.

Last night it was all about the fans in San Antonio. Here are a few tidbits so that you're in the know.

• Attendance for last night's Cowboys Kickoff Spectacular was 21,254.

• Special teams work is being moved to the start of every practice, partly as a consideration to the unit's coach, Joe DeCamillis. He still wears a neck brace because of injuries sustained when the team's indoor practice facility in Irving collapsed on May 2, leaving 12 people hurt. The change also is to emphasize the team's renewed commitment to special teams.

Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones says extension talks for linebacker DeMarcus Ware remain a top priority.

• Team owner Jerry Jones continues to say he has no interest in Michael Vick as a quarterback.

The roster is almost complete. Three draft picks signed yesterday, leaving three unsigned. Dallas also waived receiver Travis Wilson, making a spot for receiver Jesse Holley, the winner of Michael Irvin's reality show.
