Broncos Hire Wade Phillips

Gary Kubiak is getting the old band back together in his new position as the head coach of the Denver Broncos — a fairly uninspiring hire after the Broncos fired a reallly good coach in John Fox.

Kubiak, who led the Texans to mediocrity for years despite having the makings of a Super Bowl contender, hired former Dallas Cowboys head coach and most recently former Texans defensive coordinator and interim head coach (after Kubiak was fired in 2013) Wade Phillips to be his defensive coordinator in Denver.

The 67-year-old Phillips was also the Broncos' head coach for two seasons, compiling a 16-16 record in 1993 and 1994.

Phillips was 34-22 in his 3 1/2 seasons as the Cowboys' coach in the regular season and was 1-2 in the playoffs.
