Brandon Carr Will Put Pads on Tuesday

Carr hasn't had a full, padded practice all training camp

Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr will strap up for the first time this training camp on Tuesday, when the team reconvenes for practice and to say he’s looking forward to getting back on the field, after being away from the team for several weeks in the wake of his mother’s death, is an understatement.

Carr actually rejoined the team on August 8, but head coach Jason Garrett and co. have eased him back in slowly, and he still has yet to pad up.

"I'm ready to get in there and mix it up with the guys," Carr said, per ESPN Dallas. "Coach did a good job of getting me back acclimated to this tempo of practice and tempo of training camp. Now it's time to cut the rope and let me back in."

Carr says he did all he could to get work in when he was away from the team.

"I'm not going to say that I didn't [need those days] because training camp is a different intensity even when you're on your own training," Carr said. "So I took advantage of those days when I was at home and got some work in when I could, but I knew when I got back in town and got back with the team they were going to take me off to the side and allow me to get my wind, get my legs."
