Brandon Carr Lauds Greg Hardy's Intensity

The Cowboys are entering the third week of their offseason program

The verbal altercation with Davon Coleman notwithstanding, just about all the reports coming out of Valley Ranch have indicated that new defensive end Greg Hardy is fitting in nicely with the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones lauded Hardy’s work with the coaching staff last week and now, cornerback Brandon Carr is praising Hardy for the intensity he brings, even in offseason workouts.

You need guys that come and bring that added fire and passion,” Carr said, per the Dallas Morning News. “It’s always contagious. It really gets guys going out there. It’s something I hope we can use to our advantage this year.”

Perhaps the added fire can be used to the Cowboys’ advantage immediately when the season begins. But Hardy himself is currently suspended for the first 10 games of the year, a ruling he and the NFL Players Association are appealing.

Whenever he does get on the field, Carr believes he’ll make an immediate impact.

“I think he’s going to be an asset once we get him on the field,” Carr said. “I think he has a good motor for a big guy. I love his attitude, his mentality right now. He takes it serious when he’s out there on that field. When he’s locked in, he gets after it pretty good. That’s something we need. He has that demeanor you ask of a defensive lineman that likes to get after the quarterback."
