Bollinger Promoted to Number 2

Brad Johnson demoted to third string

The Dallas Cowboys bye week began with a quarterback shuffle.

The Cowboys promoted Brooks Bollinger to the number 2 position and demoted Brad Johnson to third string.

Johnson went 1-2 as a starter throwing 5 interceptions and only two touchdowns forcing the move.

Bollinger was 9-of-16 for 63 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception against the Giants.

Tony Romo is expected to return for the Cowboys next game November 16 against the Washington Redskins.

Romo is expected to resume throwing this week as he recovers from a broken pinkie.

The Star-Telegram reports the decision to move Johnson to third string means the Cowboys need a new holder for field goals and extra points because Johnson would be inactive on game days and only available in an emergency.
