Wade Needs A December To Remember

Everybody knows the Cowboys go toes up in the month of December. They haven't had a winning month of December since 1996, the last time they won a playoff game.

The December meltdowns were common under Dave Campo, Bill Parcells, and Wade Phillips has continued the tradition.

If Wade wants to return in 2010 he needs to find two wins this month. Two more victories will give Dallas ten wins and that will get them into the playoffs and could be good enough to win the NFC East this year.

Jerry Jones holds an option for Wade to return next year.  If he wants to use it. Otherwise, Wade Phillips walks the plank and Jones won't owe him a dime.  With coaches like Mike Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, Tony Dungy, Brian Billick, and Mike Holmgren out on the market Phillips knows he has to make the playoffs and win a game or two.

On my weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan, Jones is always promoting his head coach and how much he believes in him.

I think deep down, he wants to win a Super Bowl with Wade to prove all the media and fans wrong like he did with Barry Switzer in 1995.  Jerry wants us to eat our words.

To make that happen, it starts this Sunday in the Meadowlands.  The Cowboys can knock the Giants out of the NFC East title race with a win.  After that game, the Cowboys come home to JerryWorld to face the Chargers. Then it's a Saturday night tilt against the Saints in the Big Easy and a December 27th battle in Washington against the Redskins to end the month.

I say the Cowboys can get two wins and be fine.  Two wins and Wade Phillips is back to coach the Cowboys in 2010.
