Guess Who's Hurt…Again

Cowboy fans know of three things in life: Death, taxes, and Terence Newman will be hurt.

After a solid if not great start to training camp, starting cornerback Newman is hurt again. It's his groin...again.

Now T-New has company on the Cowboys sideline.  Mike Jenkins.  The second year corner was looking at starting opposite of Newman but he got hurt as well.  Jenkins has a sprained ankle.

The Cowboys will open the pre-season in Oakland on Thursday. Jenkins will not play and I don't expect Newman to play in the game either.  The head coach says as much, "Since we know how he can play, we'll be cautious with him as far as playing time," Wade Phillips said. "He's practiced the best I've seen in the two years I've been in here ... He looks in top form right now, so we'll be cautious."

That is not a big problem, because the main thing is having Newman and Jenkins lined up ready to go for the regular season opener in Tampa Bay, not playing in meaningless preseason games.

The Cowboys have just three healthy corners backs in camp.
