D-Ware Set To Eliminate Mistakes, QBs

DeMarcus Ware is confident that he and whoever is under center for San Francisco on Saturday night will be getting well acquainted.

Given Ware's numbers, history and skill, it's no big wonder why.

"You know what, I feel like I'm going to get to the quarterback regardless, to tell you the truth," Ware said. "It's not how we get there or when we get there, it's all about just really getting pressure in the game, and I think we're going to do that because that's what our defense [does]."

This is true. Dallas led the NFL in sacks with 58 in 2008, and the defense didn't lose all that much this offseason, with Keith Brooking and Igor Olshansky replacing Zach Thomas and Chris Canty respectively. However, the defense will also be reliant on several rookies, in some capacity in 2009, and the learning curve has been painfully visible at times over the first two preseason games.

Eliminating mistakes was another common theme as Ware spoke to reporters at his locker after Wednesday's practice at Valley Ranch.

"A lot of the mistakes that we made in game one and game two, in game three a lot of that needs to be eliminated," Ware continued. "This game really shows [who you are], you're playing for three quarters, you can sort of be in there a little bit more longer, you're playing a little bit more longer, all the guys are staying in there longer.

"So, now it's how you're going to play the game."
