Big 12 School Plays Rock-Paper-Scissors to Determine QB

Many head football coaches want their quarterback to be a rock.

To be the quarterback of the Kansas Jayhawks, though, it might be better to be paper, according to The Kansas City Star.

The Jayhawks are scheduled to play Rhode Island Saturday, but head coach David Beaty has yet to name a starting quarterback. So to determine who takes first-team reps in practice, the candidates have been playing Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Montell Cozart told the paper he's had the upper hand, if you will, against his competitor, returning starter Ryan Willis.

"I'm well over 50 percent," he said. "I'm at least probably about 75."

Beaty hinted that he might know who will start against Rhode Island during a Big 12 teleconference.

"They are still competing," Beaty said. "I'll know a lot more after today and I'll know a heck of a lot after (Wednesday)."
