Beckham Heading to N. Texas After Celebrating with the Royals

Beckham joining his L.A. Galaxy Stars in Frisco for game against FC Dallas

The royal wedding is over, and one guest is already heading back to the United States.

Soccer star David Beckham, who plays for the L.A. Galaxy, is headed to North Texas for Sunday's game against FC Dallas.

"Everyone is paying attention to it and [a] little bit fun for us because of David Beckham playing for the Galaxy and then coming to our game," FC Dallas spokesman Justin McCord said.

And Beckham can expect a royal reception at the game.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you saw bobby hats int he crowd," McCord said.  "You know, chants of 'William and Catherine' -- fun things like that so they can get his attention..."

It's part fun, part intimidation -- and the FC Dallas marketing team is playing up to both.

"We were excited about it all along," McCord said. "I kind of hope he's jet-lagged as well. So we engaged a couple of our fan groups, and they've produced these little things that are going to be distributed by one of our supporter's groups here at the game on Sunday."

The marketing team created little hand fans with the faces of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. It hopes fans will get a little taste of the royal pomp and circumstance while getting a glimpse of a London insider.

"It's great for people to realize and make the connection that he was at the wedding, and certainly for people who woke up early enough to see it and saw a couple of those camera shots of the Beckham family," McCord said. "To know that he's going to be here on Sunday and playing, they'll come out for that."

FC Dallas takes on the L.A. Galaxy at 6 p.m. Sunday.
