Baker Tearing Up Cactus League

In Tuesday's Cactus League rout of the Milwaukee Brewers, several Rangers players had good days at the plate.

But none were better than Jeff Baker's, and that trend is becoming old hat in Arizona.

The veteran utility player has been one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball this spring. On Tuesday, he went 2-for-2 with a home run, a single, a walk and two RBIs to raise his average to .529 this spring. He's on a current seven-game hitting streak in which time he's a ridiculous 12-for-15 (.800).

The 31-year-old is fighting for a spot on the big-league roster coming out of spring training and right now he's making it very hard for the Rangers to considering anything but that.

The Rangers are always struggling to fill out a solid bench, and while Baker is not going to be an everyday player he can do many different things, including playing first base, second base, third base and the corner outfield spots.
