As Camp Rolls On, Gregory's Confidence Grows

Randy Gregory was selected by the Cowboys with the 60th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft

Somewhat predictably, Cowboys’ rookie defensive end Randy Gregory has been getting better and better as training camp rolls along, and owner Jerry Jones, for one, is excited.

Jones said on Sunday that Gregory has been “everything I could have hoped for right now.”

The Cowboys were more than happy to select Gregory out of Nebraska with the 60th overall pick in the 2015 Draft, after the formerly unanimously-projected first rounder slipped to them due to off-field concerns.

In his preseason debut last Thursday in San Diego, he recorded two tackles and a sack, and in all likelihood, he’s only going to get more comfortable and confident as he continues to traverse his first NFL preseason.

I’m confident in my play,” Gregory said, per the Dallas Morning News. “This is a game I love. I don’t think you should ever come out here and be scared. I really don’t get nervous any more, I’m more anxious. And I’m more confident in my play, so I just got to go out there and put it all on the field."
