Roge'r Guignard scored 18 points and Texas-Arlington defeated Southeastern Louisiana 70-66 on Wednesday night.
Guignard scored 13 first-half points, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, as the Mavericks (14-10, 7-4 Southland Conference) led 40-33 at halftime.
The Lions (9-15, 3-8) cut the deficit to 64-63 on a 3-pointer by Brandon Fortenberry with 2:11 left in the game.
Southeastern Louisiana wouldn't get any closer as Brandon Long hit a free throw, Tommy Moffitt made a shot in the lane, Guignard hit a free throw and LaMarcus Reed capped the scoring with a dunk.
Anthony Vereen added 17 points and Marquez Haynes chipped in 10 for Texas-Arlington.
Patrick Sullivan led Southeastern Louisiana with 20 points. Fortenberry added 14, Damon Forest scored 13 and Warrell Span chipped in 11 for the Lions, who lost their fifth straight.
