Texas' Workman Earns No-Hitter Against Penn State

Brandon Workman struck out 10 and survived a late scare Sunday for a no-hitter in Texas' 9-0 win over Penn State.

Workman (2-0) faced 27 batters and only three reached base -- two on walks and one on an error -- in the 21st no-hitter in school history.

Rick Marlin, who walked in the third, hit a pitch that bounced off Workman's leg but shortstop David Hernandez made the throw to first in time to get Marlin out.

Tant Shepherd and Travis Tucker each had three hits for Texas (9-0). Brandon Belt, Shepherd and Cameron Rupp each had two RBIs for the Longhorns.

Starter Calvin Grumley (0-1) took the loss for Penn State (2-5), giving up six runs on eight hits in 4 1-3 innings.
