Texas Tech WR Antoine Wesley Skipping Final Season for NFL

Receiver Antoine Wesley is skipping his final season at Texas Tech to enter the NFL draft, marking the third straight year an offensive star of the Red Raiders left early to turn pro.

Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, an MVP candidate this year, did it two seasons ago and was drafted 10th overall by the Chiefs. Receiver Keke Coutee made the move after the 2017 season and was taken in the fourth round by the Houston Texans.

Wesley ranks second nationally in yards receiving with 1,410 and in yards per game at 118 while finishing with nine touchdowns on 88 catches. He trails 2009 first-round pick Michael Crabtree and Coutee for most yards in a season at Texas Tech.

Wesley set a school record with 261 yards on a career-high 13 catches with three touchdowns in a 63-49 win over Houston. He was the only receiver in a Power Five conference with four games of at least 150 yards receiving.
