The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award will be given to Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell.
The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation gives the award to the best senior college quarterback. Harrell will be announced as the 2008 winner Friday night during an awards ceremony in Baltimore.
Harrell is the first quarterback from Texas Tech since 1953 to win All-America honors. He set school records for touchdown passes and ranks second among NCAA quarterbacks for passing yards.
Foundation President John Unitas Jr. says Harrell carries the ideals of football forward into the community and his relationships with others.
The award also recognizes Harrell for character, leadership and academic success.
