Texas Stadium Headed to New Homes in Pieces

Dallas Cowboys fans and collectors who purchased items from the Texas Stadium auction are now able to pick up their piece of history from America's Team's iconic home.

More than 600 collector's items, ranging from the weird (urinals), to the interesting (stadium signage)  to the obvious (Tony Romo's locker) were up for grabs during an online auction in December.

Auction winners not only receive their item but a certificate of authenticity as well.

If you still want a piece of the stadium and didn't take part in the auction, you have until Feb. 6 to purchase two seats that will be shipped directly to you from Texas Stadium.  They are expensive at $650, but for another hundred bucks you can get the aisle seat with the Cowboys star on the side.

Also still available is Emmitt Smith's Texas Stadium locker.  The locker was made available for $2,000 but as of yet has not been sold -- which is surprising considering Smith is the NFL's All-Time Leading Rusher.

On Friday, along with removing the seats, crews began rolling up the turf beginning with the Cowboys star at the 50-yard-line. What is not known is if the end zone package available through Neiman Marcus is still for sale.

Officials with the team said a silent auction will be held Feb. 20-22 at The Corral where collectors will have another opportunity to purchase Cowboys memorabilia.  The Corral Club is a tent outside of Gate 8 at Texas Stadium.
