There was some moving and shaking on Thursday morning as the University Interscholastic League released the 2018-2020 realignment with some North Texas schools finding a new district to call home for the next couple of years.
District 9-6A will now feature Allen, Prosper and Dallas Jesuit in the mix. Allen makes the jump from Region 1 District 6 to join District 9 with all three Plano schools. Prosper is making the move from 5A and won the 3A title back in 2008.
In District 3-6A, Richland joins Abilene and San Angelo Central as the new kids on the block in a district that includes Euless Trinity and San Angelo Central. Richland went 11-3 with a 5-2 record in District 8-5A last season.
District 7-6A appears to have gotten stronger with Waxahachie, Mansfield Lake Ridge and Mansfield Summit making the jump from 5A and moving in with DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, Mansfield and South Grand Prairie.
In Division 1, Texarkana and Tyler move into the District 7-5A neighborhood. Teams in District 5-5A Region 2 will now be making a trip to Waco as Waco University is now in the mix.
