Texas Eyes 2012 as Time to Return to Elite

Texas starts season Sept. 1 vs. Wyoming

The Texas Longhorns spent 2011 just trying to get back to winning. With that accomplished, they figure it's time to return to their place among the nation's elite in 2012.

They have big questions to answer at quarterback before that happens.

While the defense grew into one of the Big 12's best and the running game had moments of dominance, the Longhorns were held back last season by the spotty play of quarterbacks David Ash and Case McCoy.

Those two rotated in the starting job all season and they are still battling for the starting job.

Texas opens the season at home Sept. 1 against Wyoming.
