TCU'S Dalton Headed to Cincinnati

TCU Quarterback taken 35th overall

Former TCU quarterback Andy Dalton was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 National Football League draft Friday.

The Bengals selected Dalton as the 35th player selected overall and the third player taken in the second round of the draft.

Dalton is the highest selection from TCU on the offensive side of the ball since tailback LaDainian Tomlinson was drafted fifth overall by the San Diego Chargers in 2001.

Dalton had a 42-7 record as a starting quarterback and is the Horned Frogs' all-time leader in wins.

The Bengals starting quarterback Carson Palmer has made it clear he wants a trade meaning Dalton could compete with others for the Cincinnati starting job immediately.
