Parking at the Super Bowl could get to be almost as expensive as a ticket to the game, with at least one Arlington business selling spots for close to $1,000.
Ticket Source, which sits directly across Collins Street from Cowboys Stadium, has already sold one space since hiking its prices.
"We sold several spots at $500 and got to the point where we only had a few left, and that's when we raised the price," said Hank Wendorf, Ticket Source founder and CEO.
The current asking price for his last three spaces is $990 -- a mere $850 more than the stadium's official parking fee.
"I think it's outrageous, but people are going to be in town, and people are going to pay it," said Arlington resident Marty McReynolds. "They want that Super Bowl experience."
According to the website ParkWhiz.com, reserved spots range from $55 for spaces more than a mile away from the stadium to nearly $1,000 across the street from it. Everyone from gas stations to restaurants to churches are looking to make some change.
"It's completely out of control," said Arlington resident Brian Baker. "But supply and demand, that's the name of the game."
