Stars Name Jeff K Public Address Announcer

Kovarsky to be third public address announcer since 1993

The Dallas Stars have hired longtime DFW radio host Jeff Kovarsky, better known as Jeff K, as the club's public address announcer for the upcoming season.

Kovarsky will handle all in-arena announcements at the American Airlines Center for the club's home games in the 2012-13 season.

He is the third PA man in the team's history since they moved to Texas in 1993.

Kovarsky has been working for the team in several capacities since 2005, first as music director and most recently as an in-arena host.

"I am honored and privileged to continue my career with the Stars and would like to thank Mr. Gaglardi and Mr. Lites for this opportunity," said Kovarsky. "I look forward to serving the team and fans with the same passion, excitement, and professionalism established by my longtime friend and mentor, Bill Oellermann."

Kovarsky can still be heard weekends on KDGE 102.1 FM. He's also production manager for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment's Dallas cluster, and is responsible for commercial production on 102.1 The Edge, 102.9 Now, 106.1 Kiss FM, 97.1 The Eagle, and Lonestar 92.5.
