The Stars have claimed center Brendan Morrison off waivers from Anaheim.
The 33-year-old Morrison, who was added Wednesday, had 10 goals and 12 assists in 62 games for the Ducks this season. He signed a one-year deal with Anaheim in July after spending the previous eight seasons with Vancouver.
Morrison is four points shy of 500 for his career. He has 169 goals and 327 assists in 736 games.
He won the Hobey Baker Trophy as the college player of the year in 1997 at Michigan, where he was teammates with Stars goalie Marty Turco.
