Stars Look to Rebound Against Red Wings

Dallas versus Detroit is always a crowd pleaser.

The Stars are coming off a 1-0 shootout loss in Phoenix Saturday night.

Marty Turco stopped all 28 shots he saw in regulation and overtime, but his teammates couldn't a puck by Ilya Bryzgalov at the other end and the Stars ended up falling in a shootout.

"When you get a shutout, you think that you should get the win. We didn't," Dallas coach Dave Tippett said. "We're in the winning business. We're not in the just-about business."

The Stars went 1-2-1 on their stretch of four straight games on the road.

Injuries: RW Fabian Brunnstrom (ankle), RW Landon Wilson (ribs), D Sergei Zubov (hip) and LW Brenden Morrow (knee) are out.

The Red Wings ran their winning streak to six games with a 3-1 win over Buffalo Saturday at Joe Louis Arena. Mikael Samuelsson's beat Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller with 2:34 remaining to snap a 1-1 tie.

"I thought we played well," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "We didn't give up much, and [Ty] Conklin was good when he needed to be. Their team played well and Miller was outstanding. We knew he would be. It just took us a while to get to him, but our guys stayed determined."

The Red Wings outshot the Sabres 48-22 in the game. Conklin stopped 21 of 22 shots in goal for the Red Wings.

Injuries: D Niklas Kronwall (flu like symptoms) is questionable. RW Darren McCarty (groin) is out.

This is the second of four meetings between the two teams. Both teams are 1-1-0 in the season series.
