The Texas Rangers have hit a rough stretch. Injuries to three of their starting pitchers is starting to catch up.
Brock Holt homered, Sandy Leon had three of Boston's season-high nine doubles, and the Red Sox pounded Texas' pitching for 13 extra-base hits in a 12-5 victory over the Rangers Monday.
"We've got to be better," Rangers manager Jeff Bannister said. "We've got to find a way to pitch it better in those games. This is a challenging time when these days do happen."
The Rangers are minus starters Yu Darvish, Derek Holland and Colby Lewis — all on the disabled list. Darvish looks closest to a return. He's scheduled to make a rehab start for Double-A Frisco Monday.
Rougned Odor hit a solo homer and two-run single for the Rangers, who have lost five of six.
Nick Martinez (1-2) gave up six runs on 11 hits in 4⅓ innings. The righty was making his third start in Darvish's spot.
"Got away from the game plan a little bit in the first inning and then got back to the game plan and then fell behind guys as the game went on," Martinez said.

Bannister had a simpler answer what went wrong.
"It was a tough day for Nick," he said.
Mookie Betts hit a two-run homer, Travis Shaw and Dustin Pedroia each added a solo homer for Boston, which equaled the most extra-base hits the Rangers have ever allowed. The Red Sox also put up 13 against them in Fenway Park in 2013.
Leon had four hits, and David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez each had two doubles. The Red Sox had a season-high 21 hits to win their second straight after a 21-2 rout by the Los Angeles Angels.
Rick Porcello (10-2) overcame a rough first inning when he allowed four runs, improving to 7-0 in Fenway Park this season.
Porcello pitched six innings, giving up the four runs and 12 hits.
Trailing 4-1 in the third, Boston charged ahead with four runs. Ortiz and Ramirez each hit run-scoring doubles before Holt's drive hit the top of Boston's bullpen wall and bounced in for a two-run homer.
Pedroia had an RBI single in the fifth and homered into the Green Monster seats two innings later, making it 9-4.
The Rangers jumped ahead 4-0 in the first when Odor hit his single, and Adrian Beltre and Jurickson Profar each had RBI singles.

Odor hit his team-leading 16th homer and had three hits and three RBIs for the second time this season.
Big Papi Ties Ted
Ortiz tied former Red Sox player and Hall of Famer Ted Williams for the second-most doubles ever in Fenway Park with 319. Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski hit 382.
Nice Wardrobe
Bannister came up with the idea when he first saw the schedule, and the Rangers' players, coaches and staff wore patriotic-themed suits — navy blue blazers covered with stars and red slacks — to Boston for Independence Day.
"The guys seemed to have fun with it," he said. "First of all, what better place to come to. I looked up where we were going for July 4. I'm like: `Oh, perfect storm.' Let's suit up and go have fun in Boston."

Rangers: 1B Mitch Moreland didn't play for the second straight game after being scratched Sunday with tightness in his right calf.
Red Sox: Boston manager John Farrell said C Ryan Hanigan (neck strain) will be activated from the DL on Tuesday, with C Christian Vazquez optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket. . LF/C Blake Swihart (sprained left ankle) took fly balls during optional BP.
