Hockey bad boy Sean Avery is expected to be cleared from the NHL's behavioral modification program in the next few days, according to TSN.com's Darren Dreger.
Avery could begin skating next week, but it is not clear if or when he will return to the NHL.
Avery remains Dallas property and it is likely he will have to join an American Hockey League team before getting the call-up to the NHL.
The Stars will have to find an AHL team willing to take him, then the team could place him on waivers.
Avery was suspended indefinitely for disparaging comments about his former girlfriend, actress Elisha Cuthbert who is currently dating another hockey player.
