Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was back on the field Wednesday, taking snaps and throwing passes with a small splint on his throwing hand.
He's missed the last three games with a broken pinkie.
Romo says his finger is still not all the way healed -- "but it's getting there" -- and he can grip the ball much better.
He was headed to a full-scale practice later in the afternoon and remains optimistic about returning for Dallas' next game, a week from Sunday at Washington.
Romo was hurt October 12th in an overtime loss at Arizona.
Dallas went 1-2 without Romo, scoring no more than 14 points with Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger running the offense.
Dallas has a bye this week.
The next game for the Cowboys is Nov. 16 at Washington.
