After starting his varsity career as a tight end/safety, Rockwall's Adam Dingwell appears to have found his calling.
The 6 foot 4 inch, 195-pound incoming senior switched to the quarterback position last season and made the most out of a lackluster season for the Yellowjackets. Rockwall finished 4-6 on the season, but Dingwell was a bright spot for much of the season under center.
He passed for 1,731 yards and 15 touchdowns to go against six interceptions while finding the end zone three times on the ground.
Now, Dingwell has earned a college scholarship offer, as he committed to play football at San Diego State after attending a football camp there, according to Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News.
Oral commitments are non-binding. The first day a Class of 2010 recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 3.
Dingwell will hope for better results this coming season, as Rockwall is expected to be up after having some close losses to good teams last year, including a 12-point loss to Royse City, who will decline this year, and a 10-point loss to perennial power Highland Park.
