After all, Moss is still the Patriots' top receiver, and the Patriots play the Vikings in just over three weeks.
Mike Reiss at ESPN Boston did some digging and may have gotten to the heart of the matter. Reiss reports that Moss had an "outburst" arguing with an assistant coach during the Patriots 41-14 win over Miami Monday night.
Reportedly, Moss went all Christian Bale on Patriots quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien because -- surprise! -- Moss felt too few passes were being thrown his direction.
O'Brien calls the plays for the Patriots' offense.
Reiss notes that players said there had been repeated friction between Moss and O'Brien in the past. O'Brien and Belichicik may have decided they were no longer playing by the Randy Rules.
"While I will keep private the details of internal conversations with players and staff, Belichick said in a statement, "suffice it to say that many things were taken into consideration before making the trade."
