Former Odessa Permian running back Chris Comer - a member of the 1988 "Friday Night Lights" team - died Wednesday in Houston. He was 46.
In 1988, Comer took over in the MOJO backfield for the injured Boobie Miles, and helped Permian to the Class 5A state semifinals.
