Rangers Hire Maddux as Pitching Coach

Team Finalizes Coaching Staff for 2009 Season

The Texas Rangers announced the club named Mike Maddux as the new pitching coach. 

The team also announced that Andy Hawkins, who finished the 2008 campaign as the Rangers pitching coach, will remain on the staff as bullpen coach. 

With the appointments of Maddux and Hawkins, the Rangers have finalized the club’s 2009 coaching staff. 

Maddux has been the pitching coach for the Milwaukee Brewers the past six seasons.

His pitching staff ranked second in the National League with a 3.85 ERA.
